This is a list of 9 signs and symptoms of preeclampsia that left untreated, could bring death to both the mother and baby. If you or someone you know is pregnant, make sure they know about these 9! It may just save your life, or theirs.
If you are experiencing any of these, call your doctor or go to the hospital immediately!! Don’t even finish reading the article if you begin thinking, ‘I have that… I sometimes have that… I used to have that…’ !! Just knowing what to look for so you can alert your doctor is the absolute necessary first step to survival.

This Used to be how we washed our nipples. But after a few washes it seemed like all of the detergent wasn’t being washed away. There was almost a residue on them that would cause us to re-wash the nipples in the sink after running the dishwasher and before using them.
After a while, we simply gave up washing them or the bottles in the dishwasher and began washing everything by hand.

When we were expecting our first baby and discovered my wife had preeclampsia, we freaked! Mainly because we didn’t know what to expect and what it means to us – not what it means to a bunch of doctors. There were so many things we encountered and had to figure out on our own. That’s why we want to save you time by learning from our mistakes of what worked and what didn’t work. You’ll be much more prepared than we were and things will be no big deal when you encounter them. It will also give you hope and encouragement that if we can do it, so can you.

I decided to take my son on a 2 hour plane ride to see family when he was only 5 months old. As a first time mother, I was nervous about everything. Did I pack enough clothes? What if he screams the whole flight? Am I prepared to nurse in public if I run out of expressed breastmilk? Wait. Breastmilk. I remembered that the TSA has changed the rules lately. They have to make sure my breast milk isn’t hazardous. So what really goes on during a breastmilk test?

There is a lot of mystery about breast pumping. Most soon to be mothers have never seen a breast pump much less have seen one being used. The truth is they are nothing short of an amazing, liberating tool that can be used to maximize your breastfeeding experience. Before you know it you are in the groove, allowing yourself the chance of much needed alone time while giving your baby the best nourishment possible. It’s a win-win for everyone especially if you hate breastfeeding!
Imagine getting a full 8 hours sleep (husband permitting) because you have bottles for baby in the fridge.

1. Take mental inventory of the beautiful things around your own home – Begin to feel good by really looking around your home at all the beauty. Take a fresh look at the pictures in the picture frames, the little trinkets that remind you of that special vacation, the flowers that your husband picked for you, the cute nursery that is all set up and awaiting occupancy. Start looking around for the good and the good will find you.

While beginning our journey managing preeclampsia there were times when we felt less than good. There are times when we felt down right bummed, sad, maybe even mad. We had to remind ourselves that we didn’t go looking for preeclampsia, it found us. If we knew how to prevent it, this site wouldn’t exist. Unfortunately, that day hasn’t come yet, so here we are. The next time you are feeling blue, try one of these 5 suggestions we used for turning it around and tell yourself I am feeling good. Begin at once to feel good; it really is an easy thing to do if you know how… Heck, I am feeling good right now writing this post to help others feel good!
1. Sing a song – Next time you are feeling mad or sad, start singing a song that you really enjoy. This will change your mood very quickly. The mind can’t concentrate on those bad feelings if you’re singing. If you can’t sing or don’t know the words, try whistling.

Many years ago, a book introduced this B*** diet saying it can cure preeclampsia and prevent it if massive amounts of protein are consumed. This eating strategy, however, has never been proven by any scientific communities outside the author’s studies.
There is common sense that should dictate the foods that we eat when expecting. Vegetables, fruits and good sources of cholesterol and fat are a great place to start, while limiting processed, fast, precooked, and fried foods.

So your blood pressure is high, but not too high…. you have swelling in your hands and face, but they’re not that swollen… vision is a little blurred, but you can still see… there’s protein in your urine, but there isn’t too much… If you have 1 of these symptoms or all of them, please go see your doctor as early as you can, even if you feel its just mild preeclampsia or borderline preeclampsia. This biggest part of preeclampsia is recognizing the characteristics enough to inform your doctor and have them monitor you more closely. This can save the life of the mother and child …
